Introducing Tykes N Tots Dayhome - Your Child's Second Home!
Finding the perfect childcare provider for your little one is no easy task. As a parent and now a grandparent myself, I understand the importance of creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children to thrive in. That's why I am proud to introduce Tykes N Tots Dayhome, a registered dayhome with Hanna Family Day Homes, offering a loving and secure space for your child's early development. Allow me to share a glimpse into the world of Tykes N Tots and the exceptional care we provide.
Tykes N Tots Dayhome is owned and operated by me, Kathleen Yatkowsky, and supported by my husband Robert, who is a nurse at Hanna Health Centre. Our dayhome is built on a foundation of love and safety, and being registered with Hanna Family Day Homes since their inception, we adhere to the highest standards of childcare. You can rest assured that your child will receive the best possible care and attention. We undergo regular agency and children's services inspections, ensuring continuous quality and safety.
One of our top priorities at Tykes N Tots Dayhome is to provide parents with peace of mind throughout their child's day. We understand that leaving your child in someone else's care can be worrisome, which is why we have implemented a parent communication app to keep you updated in real-time. Through this app, parents receive video and photo updates, allowing you to see your child engaging in various activities and making new friends. These updates provide a window into your child's day, fostering a sense of comfort and assurance.
Our dayhome operates from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with evening and weekend care available upon request to accommodate the needs of working parents. To ensure the utmost safety, we have met or exceeded all the necessary requirements, including standard First Aid and CPR training, a Police Check and Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check, and Food Safety Level 1 certification.
Additionally, our dayhome is pet and smoke-free, equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a fire extinguisher, and a fully stocked first aid kit. We also have a comprehensive Fire/Emergency evacuation plan in place.
At Tykes N Tots, we take pride in providing a clean environment, giving your child the space they need to learn and grow comfortably. Our excellent references from satisfied parents attest to the quality of care and attention we provide to each child.
As an Early Childhood Educator Level 1, a certified Muddy Puddle Teacher for Outdoor Learning (Level 1), and holding an Atelier Master Class certificate, I am committed to providing your child with the best educational experience.
We believe that learning should be fun, engaging, and age-appropriate. That's why we offer a variety of daily indoor and outdoor activities (weather permitting), ensuring that your child's curious mind is constantly stimulated. To further enhance your child's development, we plan our monthly themes around language and literacy activities, physical and gross motor activities, social and emotional play, sensory and creative play, not to forget those fun science experiments. Each activity is carefully designed to foster a love for learning and discovery. As part of our dedication to your child's well-being, we provide nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks, as well as diapers, wipes, and toothbrushes to maintain their hygiene throughout the day.
Over the years, Tykes N Tots Dayhome has received recognition for its exceptional service. In 2022, we were nominated for the Small Business of the Year and Rookie Business of the Year awards. In 2018, I, was nominated for the Kinderloop Childcare Provider of the Year award, a testament to my passion and commitment to early childhood education.
Our dedication to providing an exceptional learning environment has earned us the honor of being featured on CBC News and CBC Radio in 2018 when we recognized by the Canadian Space Agency and esteemed Canadian astronaut David St. Jacques, further highlighting our commitment to inspiring young minds.
Moreover, my experience as a qualified therapy assistant in physiotherapy and occupational therapy has equipped me with additional expertise in caring for children with special needs.
At Tykes N Tots Dayhome, we believe that each child is unique and deserves a safe and loving environment to explore the world around them. Their early childhood experiences play a vital role in shaping their future. Our goal is to be more than just a home daycare; we strive to be a second home for your child, providing love, care, and an enriching environment for them to blossom.
